Sharing the Faith Practices Project with Your Congregation

No doubt about it, 2020 has been hard.

The COVID-19 pandemic has been hard on pastors, on other church leaders, and on the people in the pew. We all feel as if we don’t know where to turn, what’s coming next, or what we can rely on.

But 2020 has also extended an amazing invitation to us: the invitation to be participants in our own spiritual growth.

Introducing the Faith Practices Project!

The Faith Practices Project, hosted by Faith Formation Ministries in collaboration with other CRC ministries, invites you and your church to take a dive into transformational Christian practices (also called “spiritual disciplines”).

Starting in September 2020, each month Faith Formation Ministries will release a set of resources on a particular faith practice. When each set of resources is ready, a link will go live on the project landing page (crcna.org/FaithFormation/Practices).

We hope these resources will provide new insights for how to engage with God and open ourselves to God’s work in our hearts.

Tools for You to Use

  • Share the Faith Practices website (crcna.org/FaithFormation/Practices) with your church in a “Minute for Mission” announcement. Invite people to visit the site and check out the resources available there.
  • Share weekly Faith Practice Tips in your church bulletin, via email, on your church website, or on social media. We’ve also created attractive visuals/memes to share on social media.
  • Plan a sermon series on faith practices. (The Spiritual Disciplines Handbook by Adele Ahlberg Calhoun is great background reading.)
